HomeDepot.com is unwise. They selected me to fill out a survey on the service I received from them. I usually blow off surveys, but this time I had something to say. And I feel like sharing it with more than just ForeSee Results Survey. So, here you go.
My sister and I ordered several things for my father for Christmas on December 13th. We selected the free ground shipping because it estimated that it would arrive in 7-10 days, giving us plenty of time before Christmas.
The order did not actually ship until December 17th, and no reason was given as to why they didn’t ship immediately. When the shipping confirmation was sent to my email, it said the items would arrive on Christmas (December 25th) at 5pm. I didn’t actually believe that, and was already angry that it wouldn’t arrive in time for Christmas morning. But I did figure that at least it would arrive before my sister and I left our parents’ house on the 27th.
Well, no. They finally called to schedule delivery on the 26th and told my parents the delivery would not be until December 31st.
I am truly disappointed that we had to leave my dad to assemble his gift himself – my sister and I wanted to do it for him. I am even more disappointed that the gifts did not arrive before Christmas. We had to wrap a picture. It was sad for us.
I will never use HomeDepot.com again.
I have learned that HomeDepot.com is only loosely affiliated with the brick-and-mortar stores, which is good because I do use Home Depot all the time for work on my own house. But it does give me pause that the company would handle these things so poorly.
I should have known not to use your website when I had trouble setting up a wedding registry with you. We ended up setting up our registry with Lowes. And Lowes really isn’t that much farther away from our house. My fiance and I are a bit more inclined to make the drive given the bad experiences we’ve had with HomeDepot.com.
You need to find a better way to manage your online inventory if you want to keep your customers.
