The Very Model

I love television.

I am very sorry to each and every one of my brain cells that may find itself turned off during my long stints of television viewing. Please forgive me, brain cells! But I really love television.

So, last night, on one of our plethora of TiVos (because why have just one?) [EDIT: Check out today’s apropos PvP], we were watching a couple of this season’s new shows. Oddly enough, they were both on NBC - a channel I’m pretty I would have forgotten the existence of last year, if it weren’t for my addictive need for intravenous Law and Order. (I prefer the CI flavor, but I still watch SVU and the OG on occasion.)

Which two shows, you wonder? That would be Heroes and Studio 60. Forgive my fan-girl-ism, but WOW WAY COOL AWESOME YAY! How could those shows go wrong in my eyes? If I were Maria, my song about my favorite things would include super heroes and satire (in addition to the “snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes”).

Anyway, I’m a little (probably unreasonably) excited about television. If they cancel one of these shows before I get to enjoy it thoroughly, I will be very, very sad.

Musical number!

Studio 60 is awesome. It really makes up for The West Wing ending. Have only seen the pilot so far?

I’m definitely liking Studio 60 and the first episode of Heroes was interesting. We’ll see where they take it.

I am so glad to see I’m not the only fan of television!

Dave: There have totally been two episodes of Studio 60. If your TiVo missed one, you must be pretty sad. Unless your TiVo does have it, and is just waiting for you to press play.

Al & Laura: Heroes has all the potential in the world. But my opinion goes more towards Laura’s. When it ended I immediately claimed to “love this show.” That is a statement that I have previously reserved only for Aaron Sorkin’s old friend Sports Night, which I so own on DVD.

It occurs to me that I’m not certain that Dave has a TiVo…

That should have read, Have you only seen the pilot? Meaning how up to date are you since baseball season isn’t over yet? And yes my DVR picks it up.

From the first instant of Studio 60, you could taste the Sorkinese in the air. Of course, I am a big fan.

I’ve yet to see this Heroes. TiVo is holding on to it so I’ll catch it over the weekend.

Dave: I’m mad at the Red Sox, so I haven’t been giving them my full attention lately. I’m up to date on most of my television, except for Law and Order: Criminal Intent and CSI: Miami. Also, Mike hasn’t yet watched The Office. I can’t watch The Office. It gives me adgeda.

Jon: I love the smell of Sorkin in the evening.

    Isn’t TiVo a miraculous thing?

Jeremy and I watched Heroes- I’m not sure I’m on board, but “shows to free time ratio” is dangerously high anyways

I agree with you all. I NEED A TiVo!! now to convince Ty…

I am so glad that there are actually shows on that I actually care about. It’s been so long since I HAD to see …. that show.

There go more of my brain cells too…

Tara: We are so totally screwed. We already have like 6 episodes of new TV on the TiVo that haven’t been watched. And another Numb3rs will be on tonight! Oie!

Josie: TiVos are awesome. Also they’re the devil. They convince you that it’s okay to watch television for hours and hours and hours…

    Brain cells are overrated.
