We played with the telescoping thing at Best Buy for both of them. The DC-07 was very confusing and awkward, while the DC-14 was much simpler to comprehend. It was actually what made us jump up to the DC-14, even though the DC-07 reputably has better suction. My only problem with it now is that the hose is <em>just</em> too short for me to reach the top step without bending over. So close! I forgot about that part of the story! As we were walking away from the Dysons, on our way to peruse the rest of Best Buy, we found ourselves staring at the Roomba on the next end cap. After some ogling, I reminded Mike that we were there to buy a vacuum cleaner, not a toy. I wouldn't put it past us to end up with one of those things if they get more powerful... OH! I forgot about that part of the story!
